Artist Statement

I like to consider myself as a tree when it comes to my art practices. It’s similar to how Digital Media Art branches off into a wide variety of different category of art or programming, but they all are still connected to one another at its roots. As time passes, my collection of knowledge grows with me, and I’m always interested in learning more to expand my repertoire. The processes that transform an idea into the ideal final project, and everything in between, are invaluable and drive me to keep creating.

Digital media surrounds our culture in many ways; we see it everywhere and digital devices can provide us instant gratification with images and information. Video games, pop culture, and my own hobbies have helped me shape my art into the way it is today. However, it is overwhelming at times, so I keep myself grounded with hands-on crafts and hobbies such as sewing, paper crafting, knitting, and other mixed media. These also inspire me to incorporate these aspects into my digital works, whether it's part of the history, within the process, or part of the final piece.
